How to Remove Gel Nail Polish At Home

Acetone is the most effective way to remove gel nail polish at home, according to board-certified dermatologists. It works by breaking down the bonds that hold the polish to your nails. To use acetone to remove gel nail polish, you will need:
Materials:
- 100% acetone
- Cotton balls or pads
- Aluminum foil
- Cuticle pusher or orange stick
- Nail file
- Buffer
Instructions:
- File the top layer of your nails to remove the shine.
- Cut 10 small squares of aluminum foil, one for each nail.
- Soak a cotton ball or pad in acetone and place it on your nail.
- Wrap the aluminum foil around your nail to secure the cotton ball or pad.
- Wait 10-15 minutes.
- Remove the aluminum foil and cotton balls or pads.
- Use the cuticle pusher or orange stick to gently scrape off the softened gel polish.
